I’m a little more knowledgeable about the subject, but was still not able to fix the issue. As far as I can tell my web.config file is similar or identical to all of the examples. My permalinks seem to be working (things like example/blog and example/contact). It’s just the index page that doesn’t show up.

IE11 was defaulted to show all intranet sites under compatibility view. I unchecked that option and the site displays properly.
To fix the issue, in IE11 I went to Tools->Compatibility View Settings and I removed the check mark in “Display intranet sites in Compatibility View”

In reply to: New themes not workingI seem to be honing in on the problem. My themes are installing in the /srv/www/wp-content directory, but if I copy that into the /var/www/wordpress/wp-content directory, it seems to work. Is this a configuration issue?
