In reply to: Cannot Update or Install new pluginsYes, just installed and activated and then deactivated a plugin. However, I would still like to upgrade and install new plugins via the admin automatically, and because other’s may be updating these things in the future.

In reply to: Errors uploading media, installing pluginsI had to increase the size of the bitnami wordpress ec2 EBS volume instance on amazon which fixed the problem rewrite to the wp-config file, BUT I’m still having trouble changing back my plugins folder from “plugins.hold” still saying permission denied via my ftp (Filezilla).

In reply to: Errors uploading media, installing pluginsNothing from amazon, but a bitnami support member mentioned to use SSH to change file permissions. I’m not sure that would be what I need because I can change file permissions using Filezilla and it still does not work.

In reply to: Errors uploading media, installing pluginsI was able to change the name of the theme folder to with “-old” attached, but nothing has changed everything is still white (blank) with the site.

In reply to: Errors uploading media, installing pluginsI guess what I had meant in the end of my original post was that I cannot write any files to the server and gives either “file transfer failed” or “permission denied” in Filezilla.

In reply to: Errors uploading media, installing pluginsI have not, and unfortunately I cannot access the admin panel to switch the theme or turn off plugins. Everything is white (blank) in safari and firefox, and says server error (500) in chrome. I should have probably tried your suggestion first.
