In reply to: Prev/Next Page plugin? (wordpress Pages, not Posts)Ok, just did earthman100’s code and good so far! I and some friends of mine write stories so I am using this to go to each chapter and each story, the stories are written in date order so the stories page order has to be consecutive for it to flow properly.
Was funny when I went in to edit the pages to change their page order this is what wordpress had “Pages are usually ordered alphabetically, but you can put a number above to change the order pages appear in. (We know this is a little janky, it’ll be better in future releases.)”
^_^ I hope the improve the PAGE functions in future releases (I’d like more functions for pages), so far everything seems to focus on the POST functions. I’ve got several layers of links of pages that it can get messy.

I just can’t get wordpress to work like I want to be able have a menu system for a lot of stories with various authors without killing my nav or making my nav menu super long.

In reply to: Widgets won’t configureI’m having the same problem, all of a sudden the ability to configure my widgets just stopped. I’ve tried using IE & FireFox. I’ve even re-installed the widgets plugin (and double checked file folder location). Was working fine last week.
The only thing I did from then until now was activated then de-activated UTW and did the same for useronline & the widget.

In reply to: Multiple authors, adding pages, upload directoriesThe Role Manager plugin does work in adding/editing own pages, you just have to do a minor tweak. Sadly at the moment the plug in page is down (where I found the tweak) but I’m here to say it can be done.

In reply to: Adjusting User Role LevelsAnother warning… This ‘fix’ causes a problem in creating new pages. Every time I tried to create a new page it saved it as a post draft. I tried doing a fresh install and still had the same problem.

Though it shows you the link to edit/delete a page when you click it it says you don’t have permission.
Though ** WARNING ** It did change all my pages and attachments to posts so I had to go into my database and change all my pages back to static (and my pictures back to attachments).
(I searched all morning for a resolution, and wouldn’t you know it AFTER I post here I find it x_x;)

In reply to: EMail problems!I’m having the same problem and it only occured AFTER I upgraded to WordPress 2.x I still use 1.5 and get emails with no problems from there and I have forums that use php mail and we get those also, it’s just WordPress 2 that I’m having a problem with. I’ve been haunting the board/forums/whatever you want to call it for weeks with no resolution in sight, several users are having the same problems and nobody can seem to solve it. And you can’t just say it’s my host (read the first few lines in this reply). So please, any assistance is appreciated, I’ve already tried several suggestions that was given by this board and am still having problems.

In reply to: Notify in replyFYI, your plug in only emailed the admin email on account, it did not email any of the users. Of course I’ve been having this problem since I upgraded to 2.x. Several people are having this problem and there has been no resolution T_T

In reply to: No mail() function in 2.0.1, but in 1.5.2I’m having the EXACT same problem!
My 1.5.1.3 email works just fine for every function and plugins.
I installed 2.0.2 and NOTHING email wise works! I get the mail() function is disabled everytime.
I’ve searched the support forums and can not see a resolution, I know we’re not the only ones having the problem. My server is a Linux.
Somebody please help or at least point us in the right direction.
