Redirect loops happen for a countless amount of reasons. It’s very likely that the times you upgraded and received redirect loops that they were being caused by separate issues.

You can reset the plugin settings by adding
define('WPHTTPS_RESET', true);to your wp-config.php. After the settings have reset, make sure you remove it.I just pushed out version 3.0. Please update and let me know if you need any help.
