Update:
From Divi version 4.14.1 the problem has been fixed. So the files arent being created anymore.
However, you may need to get rid of the existing ones. It isn’t likely you can do it through file manager. Through the cpanel the file manager is too clunky and through ftp software the folder wouldnt even load as it was too populated. I am with TSO Host and they suggested SSH – a bit nervous, as I am not that tecky. But i had played with command prompt a few times before so changed directory to the uploads folder and TSO and they gave me some SSH code to find and remove the files.
It took about 7 minutes to remove them but they have gone! Yeh.
215,000 files. 215,000!!!!!!! Wow.
I am back to just 15% files usage and the website is still working.
So speak to your host, authorize SSH access and download ‘Putty’. Some good youtube vids out there on how to do it all.
This problem is affecting us too. We’ve hit the 250,000 maximum.
Divi said the latest update has fixed it but it hasnt. they are blaming TSO host for not automatically deleting these files, TSO Host are saying it is Divi’s problem.
I think I worked it out to around 400 hours needed to delete the files manually. The uploads folder is so clogged it wont load properly. The latest help from TSO host is that they will try and delete the files for me. But I saw that several hundred have been added again today.
I have sent another moaning support mail to Elegant themes to fix the problem.
Did anyone get any joy in fixing this yet?
