Any updates on a beta?
No problem. Just now seeing reply. Think sales of the BDP would double and triple if a number of categories were free (+ chosen plan) then extra categories chosen were extra, such as is the case in the SOBI2 extension for Joomla. I’ve seen where people have been screaming to have a SOBI2 plugin for WordPress.
The 3 categories selected in photo, instead of being listed separately, was looking to have it so that 3 categories could be selected for a total of $20 vice $60.
Currently, the prices for the organization are $20 for 1 year, and $35 for 2 years for a total of 3 categories. If they chose 1 year and 4 total categories, then it is $22.50 and if they do the max of 9 total of $35 for 1 year ($20 + 6 categories ($2.50) = $35)
I have tried to get the organization to rethink and go with a $5 for each category… which if more than 1 is selected, a year later the listing owner would get more than 1 expiration notice.
So close…
‘Out of the box’ I think the SOBI2 extension for Joomla has up to 5 categories that can be selected with the first 3 being free for a set price then the other 2 categories if click are just a little more on top of the fee for the first 3 that are already selected. The SOBI2 extension I have was modified to have first 3 free for a set price then categories 4-9, (4 more than the installed 5) were set for $2.50 each.
Was hoping 3.2 had this feature…
Here’s what we plan to offer in the future:
– The ability to select a fee plan that offers you the ability to select X categories (and no more) for a single feeIs the above implemented in the new release? If so how to configure?
Still sitting on edge of seat waiting for new release =)
Not having issues any longer, I realize now that changing categories is adding ON to the directory…
If and when the update comes out, hopes that it will include some of the things you mentioned it will have in another post.
If indeed it does, those that use Joomla and use SOBI2 would be happy to switch over and use the BDP.
BTW, when will update go into effect?
I’ve been away and haven’t been able to test out. Any word on the new release?
For the moment I have it so only 1 category can be selected. After it is published, if I go in and edit and leave the same category, it goes to pending status. But if I change to a different category, the payment screen (paypal) displays…
I think I may have found a workaround for entering existing listings with expiration dates already set.
Granted, once I get paid for work already done plus funds to purchase the PayPal plugin, I will get the PayPal addon and I’m sure the workaround would work for the current free listing mode as well as once the addon is applied.
Since the new site isn’t live yet, the fee days can be simply altered for a brief time to match the new listing I’m bringing over.
I’ll use http://daycalc.appspot.com as a easy way to figure the fee days.

In reply to: [Business Directory Plugin - Easy Listing Directories for WordPress] Import?Would love to import as well but it is possible to determine the expiration date?
I have a online directory I need to ‘bring over’ with various expiration dates already
