Not sure but I was able to resolve it by doing the complete deactivation as described in the link I posted above.
Might be good now. Forgot to do the “complete deactivation” as described on https://wordpress.org/support/topic/error-occurred-while-updating-spamfirewall-local-base-23/
Yay for self service.
Also, tried changing the access key and applying a new one.
