Yes that is what should happen, but sometimes the autocomplete is slower than the user who types, or they ignore it, but the point is if i get this everytime an event with duplicate location is entered, it is a pain and not what should happen

In reply to: [Events Manager - Calendar, Bookings, Tickets, and more!] BUG slug issueSame with version 5.5 all plugins deactivated twenty eleven theme
Are there any settings in WP settings-discussion that may play a part in this?
try going into admin, events-locations, open the locations in question then click update.
I have a similar issue and that solves it, obviously some bug as it should not be like that.
see here
http://wordpress.org/support/topic/slug-issue-1?replies=1When i check database under wp_em_locations one is given slug
ascot-racecoursethe other has NULLIf i go into admin, events/location and open the location-2 update ( but add remove nothing) the problem goes!!!
OK i can replicate the issue.
If i log in as a user, create an event and give it a location already in the database, in other words it is location-2.
When you publish the event and go to the single event and click the#_LOCATIONLINKthe location page shows both locations.http://www.berkshireeventsguide.co.uk/locations.jpgNOTE this is location and location-2 as both show different upcoming events
Does same with twenty eleven theme
What is correct thing to do if someone submits an event with a location that is already established. should you just delete the fields in event form and enter original location then publish?
i can’t replicate it so no idea why it did it
yes that was not the issue though i understand you cant have two slugs the same.
“on the page that shows the single location it just shows one above the other as if just one location”
Both slugs show on one locationwell i just tried on identical local copy and it works, but on live site it just added both locations, although after trashing one it is ok?? no idea testing locally see what i get
Anyway you can use drop down list AND create location if not listed, sometimes it takes ages for locations to show when typing?
On local copy if i trash the location and restore, it no longer shows on the locations page. but shows in admin, events/locations, also shows both as single locations
