The previously mentioned site has gone live, with compression disabled. But the issue can still be seen at another site,
https://dev.lcdhd.org/404, etc. Here it is on my site:
https://www2.lcdhd.org/404
(or you can do something likehttps://www2.lcdhd.org/xyzto trigger a 404, same result)Just as winston_wolf says above, if I type:
https://www2.lcdhd.org/not-found.php
…it works.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Contact Form 7 Polylang Module] Missing CF7 translation fileBased on some reading I’ve done, it looks like the best place to tell users to store their custom .mo files is
/wp-content/languages/plugins… because this folder won’t be overwritten when the user updates your plugin. Or maybe a subdirectory there, if that is a problem. This came up because I just updated the plugin to get the new behavior for en_US, but in the process it deleted my custom Spanish translation file as well.

In reply to: [Contact Form 7 Polylang Module] Missing CF7 translation fileOK, will do. Looks like my file names were named as required, but just in the wrong folder.
I’m not sure what is meant by “submit it to the translation api”. If you mean copy it to the
/plugins/cf7-polylang/languages/CF7folder, I can do that, but if you meant to submit it to the GitHub repository, I don’t know how to do that.PS: The FAQ page here on wordpress.org still has the old instructions (https://wordpress.org/plugins/cf7-polylang/faq/).

In reply to: Post Box Text Isn’t Visible?Subsequently, I found some helpful information here:

And here:
Forum: Requests and Feedback
In reply to: Post Box Text Isn’t Visible?I am experiencing this same problem on two separate WP blogs. Not only is the copy invisible, but there are other weird problems (the formatting bar disappears, and tags appear in the visual editor if you switch to HTML and back).
I get this same page, if I try to auto-upgrade WP on my personal computer, where I run a mirror copy for testing purposes. I cannot get past it.
I do NOT see that page when auto-upgrading WP on my server computer, which always works perfectly.

In reply to: azenv.php in error logs? causing white screen of death? Thanks for the input/discussion. I was seeing this in my blog stats as well. I found a good reference on this subject here:
http://www.proxy4free.info/proxyjudge.html
@green_three_delta: “azenv” stands for “AZ Environment Variables,” and is one of several free “proxy judge” applications available. Basically all this application does is tell the user (the person who visited your site) if their IP is safely hidden.
In nearly all cases, the IP address points to China, so as redscourge suggested, I am going to assume (hope!) they are ordinary people trying to circumvent government censorship. But if you see other IP sources, or lots of activity, or suspicious activity, it could be someone attacking or preparing to attack your site, or otherwise hack it.
