Just wanted to verify frankpw’s solution. I used a plugin called Capability Manager to handle this.

I’ve encountered the same exact issue on one of the three blogs I’ve upgraded. Unfortunately the client actually did the upgrade and didn’t bother to back things up (never should have given him admin privs), so I’m hoping to find a fix soon.
I can definitely verify that Firebug (1.5X.0a01) causes a redirect on the Edit Post page. I disabled the console and script panels and the problem disappeared.
