I am having the same issue. I don’t want to use featured image feature because it interferes with my custom template. Is there another way to get around this sample thumbnail issue and have my own first uploaded image to the post be shown as the proper thumbnail?

Has this bug been fixed? I am seeing random thumbnail images that do not belong to me, never created by me and I can’t seem to get rid of them. Thumbnails of my own images (first image to be uploaded to the post) are not showing up. Please advice, thank you.
