I have the same question.
The FAQ you link to says that this is due to a plug in conflict. But I have 4 contact forms on my site and the spinning wheel only affects one of them.

Went through all those steps.
It seems that the same behavior affects all search engine widgets that are installed in sidebar two but moving them to sidebar one fixes the problem. I can live with that. (But it’s still awfully strange!)
