No, obviously not.
You’re blocking your own server’s IP from connecting to itself which breaks your cron jobs and wordfence scanning. Don’t do that.

Hi,
That will only happen once, then your site will be fast. Not sure why you want to preload – seems like a lot of work for improving the first hit a page receives by a few miliseconds.

Yes we do spam comments that contain malware links in them.
We don’t do anything about user registration.

Please let me know what the memory limit is that you were hitting and I’ll try to help.
The port is 9050 as mentioned above.

Mark.
We already have this. Please see the following on the options page:
“Immediately block the IP of users who try to sign in as these usernames”

Can you elaborate on “go out to lunch”?
Do you get a 500 internal server error?
Site timeout?
White screen?
Or something else?
We have not had this reported before so it sounds like something specific to your config.
Also let me know if you’ve enabled caching.

Hi,
The title of the post is “Feedjit IP pounding on my server”. These are outbound connection attempts as you have discovered. Just clarifying for anyone else reading this.
Skipping to the bottom of your post, yes this is already an option. Just uncheck the box titled “participate in the wordfence security network” and this will be disabled.
“the Curl script is set to port 9050 but is sending outbound on other closed ports”
Not sure why you think this. The log you posted shows only connection attempts to 9050. Your machine will obviously use a range of local ports for the local part of the TCP connection – as it will for any outbound connection.

Mark.
Correct. We do this as a performance enhancement. There’s no point in using Falcon if you’re going to be writing live traffic to your database.

Hi,
Can you tell me how you know you had 4000 attempts?

Can you tell me where you downloaded the version of WordPress you’re using?

Sounds like a file permissions issue.

Thanks, please tell me where I can download the translated version you’re using and I’ll whitelist it.

Please view/source on the page and let me know if you see anything.
It could be that your site is malfunctioning and Falcon is caching the incomplete page. Check your web server error logs to see if you’re getting out of memory errors.
I’m going to file a bug for us to inspect the HTML of each page and don’t cache if it’s blank or there’s another issue.

Mark.
You’re welcome, glad to hear it’s fixed. Thanks for posting Tom.

Hi,
It looks like your web server might be generating a 403 forbidden error. Have you password protected your /wp-admin folder?
