Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Front end not working – re-installation/upgrade problemI had this problem after upgrading. I had initially renamed my .htaccess file to htaccess.txt, per tamba’s instructions, but I had forgotten to switch the file name back. That resolved my issue with access to previous posts, but now I have a formatting problem…
Hope this helps 🙂

In reply to: unable to access blogHey Steve,
Sounds like I may be having the same problem as you. I’ve dleted all of the necessary old files and uploaded the new ones. Kept the ones they say to, but now I cannot access my blog or run the upgrade script. My index file is also intact. Did you get any closure on this issue, and can you offer any suggestions?
Thanks!
Steven

As I look at the requirements in the zip file for phpmyadmin, there is the following:
_______________________
Requirements
* PHP
o You need PHP 4.1.0 or newer, with session support (*)
o You need GD2 support in PHP to display inline thumbnails of JPEGs (“image/jpeg: inline”) with their original aspect ratio
o You need PHP 4.3.0 or newer to use the “text/plain: external” MIME-based transformation
* MySQL 3.23.32 or newer (details);
* Not really a requirement but a strong suggestion: if you are using the “cookie” authentication method, having the mcrypt PHP extension on your web server accelerates not only the login phase but every other action that you do in phpMyAdmin.
* Web browser with cookies enabled.

In reply to: Changed the Opening Page URL, Lost Theme and AdminThanks Yo. So I need mysql and other tools besides phpmyadmin to do this? Is there any alternative, w/o having to rebuild the site? I don’t have this stuff, and I wouldn’t know how to use it anyway, unfortunately. I leave for Asia for six-months in three days, and thihs is my blog site…
