In reply to: [BackWPup β WordPress Backup & Restore Plugin] Old backups not deletingI can delete archives from the dashboard interface. However, archives sometimes pile up in the dropbox account. I don’t see any pattern. With some installations everything work fine with others not so much.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Remotely update wc databaseThanks a bunch. I would need to install wp-cli, I guess. Will give it a try. The link itself is working fine.
Thank you very much. I’m not greedy. It would be a miniscule change to make the frontend message tranlatable. π I’m sure that many user would gladly provide their language files for a fully gettext-ready version.

In reply to: [BackWPup β WordPress Backup & Restore Plugin] Old backups not deletingWe still have problems with some sites. It’s really a pain in the neck. Is anything wrong with this archive name sytax?
data_%Y-%m-%d_%H-%i-%s_%hash%
database_%Y-%m-%d_%H-%i-%s_%hash%The problems occured after the new archive tracking system was introduced.
I’m sure, it’s not BackWPup-related. Do you upload the zipped SQL file?
I usually don’t change the default setting of 0. Don’t get me wrong: The plugin works fine. (Well, it sometimes does not delete old archives in the Dropbox account, but that’s another story.) The phpmyadmin memory error has nothing to do with BackWPup. The character encoding problem can probably be avoided by uploading the zipped file. I just wondered if I missed anything on the BackWPup settings page.
Hello,
it’s a 110 MB database. The PHP timeout is set to 300 sec, I think. It’s not a timeout problem. It’s PHP RAM related, as far as I understand. Since it is shared hosting we can’t increase the limits further. The more severe problem is character encoding. It’s a common problem. Sometimes it happens, sometimes not. I’ve never really understood how I could prevent this. German umlauts suck!

In reply to: [BackWPup β WordPress Backup & Restore Plugin] Old backups not deletingSame here. The last months I have been very disappointed with the performance. Due to some change of the file naming, old archives were not deleted. Since months I do this manually for dozens of clients. Bad, very bad. I love the plugin, and the support is awesome. However, please be careful not to break the former configurations. It’s ok for one or two installations. With 50 or more, it’s a nightmare.
Well, it’s a bit erratic. Sometimes the error occurs, sometimes not. I’ve just tested it with debug on, but everything ran smoothly. Seems to be a minor issue anyway.
Thanks, Mike

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] 4.8.1 hangs forever when user clicks “Submit”Same here. The path is definitely wrong.
I’ve just tested it in a brandnew installation with no other plugins activated. Same problem.

In reply to: [BackWPup β WordPress Backup & Restore Plugin] Old archives are not deletedWell, I wouldn’t call this a “working” solution. This will take hours of (unpaid) work. And it doesn’t make sense to renew an authentification that is indeed working fine.

In reply to: [BackWPup β WordPress Backup & Restore Plugin] Old archives are not deletedYes, all sites are on the same server and have a very similar configuration. I’ve just deleted all old backups and renewed the dropbox authentification. VoilΓ , now it’s working. So something seems to be wrong in this constellation:
– new backwpup tracking system
– no folder name in the upload path
– existing authentificaton. This is small comfort, since I will have to get new authentification codes und probably have to delete the old archives. That’s a lot of work.

In reply to: [BackWPup β WordPress Backup & Restore Plugin] Old archives are not deletedHallo,
thanks a bunch for the great support. I inserted the debug code. The log says: “0 backups found”, which is wrong, of course, since 6 backups are in the dropbox account. The other job (that uses a folder in the upload path) counts correctly 3 backups. We have this problem with all installations where we don’t use a folder name. It is not specific for this single installation.
