    Thank you so much! Using the Enable jQuery Migrate Helper plugin did work. The site runs smoothly on WordPress 5.4 but has the described issues once I update to 5.5.

    What would be the correct fix for this issue? I guess using the jQuery Migrate Helper plugin is only meant as a temporary solution and not a proper fix, right?

    I don’t really have a developer team, the Theme is around 4-5 years old and worked well until a couple of weeks. I am pretty sure I made changes to the widgets etc. earlier this year, so one of the latest WordPress updates must have caused the issue.

    So there is pretty much nothing I can do to fix this aside of getting a developer checking my theme?
