If the only reason you need that is to battle comment spam, I recommend Dr. Dave‘s Spam Karma 2. It’s never let a single piece of spam through on my blog, and it’s highly configurable to atuo-allow whatever you want, and auto-disallow what’s clearly spam. If it’s in the grey area, it will give you moderation.
Hey, no problem! I had to spend some time to figure that one out, and I’m always happy to help with something another person in the community is having problems with when I’ve already had the same problem and fixed it.
Over at my blog (http://blog.mattfast1.com), I have my pages set up to appear as virtual directories and my archives under the /archives/ virtual. If you just set up your permalink structure like so, it should work for you (I”m running 1.5.1.3):
/archives/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/
