In reply to: New Plugin: WP-Dash for Testers/DevelopersThe logout link being blank is some strange bug related to the way I hijack the index page without overwriting it (hook into admin_head, include the new index file, and die.
As far as widget’s just sitting there, that seems odd as I’ve never had that trouble. (Try dragging around on the dark blue title bar in case nobody noticed) Mind posting browser versions and the like? (If its opera, I’m not surprised, their XMLHTTPREQUEST sucks)

In reply to: Page not generatingIf you enabled nice permalinks and didn’t properly paste them into your .htaccess or if mod_rewrite isn’t available then you would get a 404 error.

In reply to: page generation problemsThese are both probably results of your current theme. For 1, edit your page.php, remove everything from the bottom that you don’t want. For 2, edit your sidebar php, all the page navigation stuff is probably wrapped in an if(is_page()), and if you get rid of that wrapper then it should all display.

In reply to: WordPress allowing spyware to be installed? No sites related to WordPress are installing any spyware. My guess is one of the following:
A) You run something like AOL instant messager, which allows spyware in because its built in browser is IE and it allows spyware through.
B) You’re on an unupgraded windows box not behind a firewall or router. The average time for a computer to be compromised is about 12 minutes.
C) You got spyware in the past and your spyware removal programs are not doing their job entirely correctly.

No knowledge of PHP is required. If you know XHTML/CSS, you’re good to go.

In reply to: What version I am running?I highly, highly recommend installing it yourself and not through fantastico. I manage a 500 user server, and I must say fantastico leaves one hell of a mess and is so out of date.
