So I have a comment and a question about this.
My comment is that, as far as I can tell, this has no direct impact on SEO. While it’s disconcerting to see Google report broken sitemaps (can’t find the versions without the numeric postfix), if one clicks on sitemap.xml then Google reports all those with the postfix.
For my own site, at least, it seems that Google is perfectly aware of the ones with the postfix, is pulling them in just fine and they are right up to date. I have not yet seen any noticeable impact on SEO. So, unless someone can tell me to the contrary, I don’t THINK this is quite the SEO-wrecker that someone of us have assumed.
If I am correct on that, then my bigger concern is in the form of a question. Is the lack of response (both here and through support channels it seems) indicative of what we can expect in the future?
For something so crucial to how Google interprets our sites and has the potential to do real damage (I’m looking at you Yoast!), I want a stable, well-supported plugin and – so far – SEOPress looked like a good move to me. But the absence of any response, recently, here and elsewhere is very concerning to me for the future. Clearly it’s causing a lot of concern for folks here – whether with good reason or not – so seeing these concerns being ignored is worrying.

In reply to: [If Menu - Visibility control for Menus] Premium VersionClick on the If Menu node under Appearances and there’s a link in that page.
Just to clarify, even after flushing permalinks, if I use View Your Sitemap the post-sitemap1.xml and page-sitemap1.xml files are still reported.
I have the same issue. Flushing permalinks doesn’t resolve the issue. What else can I try and any idea why this is happening?

In reply to: [Redirection] Redirection plugin “closed down”?Carol, my assumption there is that WordFence is reporting the removal as the issue, rather than specifically stating that a security issue has been detected. Is that how you would interpret that?

In reply to: [Code Snippets] Fix new updateGood to know. Pushing out an update and then going to bed is probably also not a great idea. S/he is going to have an interesting Sunday morning 🙂

In reply to: [Code Snippets] Fix new updateTo be fair, I’ve never had any issues with this in the past. That said, there’s a responsibility that comes with pushing out an update – even a free one – and I really would have liked to see the developer at LEAST acknowledge the issue and that it is being investigated (although, from my limited scanning of this forum, the fix seems pretty simple).

In reply to: [Code Snippets] Fix new updatePretty disappointing that 5+ hours after this was reported and started bringing many sites down…. the developer is nowhere to be seen. That gives me pause for thought about this plugin moving forward. Stuff happens, but rolling out an update should coincide with the developer being available.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Store page no longer shows productsThank you, Mike. I figured this out. Because I was testing this, I had marked the pages as Private. What is strange is that they were private all along but everything was working. Then I changed a different field on the same page and the dropdown (to specify the shop page) disappeared.
It would have helped me track this down a little quicker if instead of just removing the dropdown it perhaps existing but had something like “No pages available” or something similar.
Anyway, that was the solution. Thanks for the response.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Store page no longer shows productsOK, I think I found the cause of the issue but don’t know how to fix it.
Under Chrome I get the empty page (no products displayed) but no error. That was what I was documenting above.
However, in Internet Explorer I get a 404 error (and “Page not found” text) embedded in the overall page. Not sure why Chrome doesn’t show that but it seems IE shows me the clue as to what’s broken.
So, it seems pretty clear to me now that the store page is not correctly configured, which is consistent with no dropdown being displayed for the setting (see the screenshot in the link I provided).
How would I fix this issue (specify the page to be used as the store page)?
Thanks.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Store page no longer shows productsHere’s what I see for the store page setting. This is broken, no? Should I not see a dropdown of available pages?

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Store page no longer shows productsBy the way, if I navigate to a single category page I can see the relevant products. It seems to be just the main store page that is broken (nothing displayed).
