I have only successfully submitted invites since upgrading. Previously I would have had a ‘page not found’ by now so based on a limited number of invites, all appears to be good. Thank you Boone.

After further inspection, while the ‘Select people to invite from you friends list’ text message to the right will sometimes stay after selecting a member, that does Not seem to have any impact on whether ‘Send Invites’ is successful or not.

The only clear difference is that once the request is submitted the failures occur when the request results in a path no longer in /invite-anyone/

So on failures I get /groups/group-name/send

I am having similar/same problem when selecting the ‘Send Invites’ button. Sometimes it works as designed and then it won’t. I have noticed that the following occurs:

    WORKS:
When ‘send invites’ works, the textbox with “Select people to invite from your friends list” WILL disappear after selecting a member to invite.

The path to the page is:
    /groups/group-name/invite-anyone/

After submitting ‘Send Invites’ button. The path will momentarily change to:
    /groups/group-name/invite-anyone/send

And then I get a successful green textbox and the path is back to:
    /groups/group-name/invite-anyone/
    ———————————–
    DOES NOT WORK:
When ‘send invites’ doesn’t work, the textbox with “Select people to invite from your friends list” WILL NOT disappear after selecting a member to invite.

The path to the page is:
    /groups/group-name/invite-anyone/

After submitting ‘Send Invites’ button. The path will change to:
/groups/group-name/send (note /invite-anyone/ is now missing)

And the resulting message is displayed:
    “Page not found.
We’re sorry, but we can’t find the page that you’re looking for. Perhaps searching will help.”

I can’t figure out what variable is changing to cause this behavior. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

    WP Multi-site: 3.51
    BP 1.7.1
    Invite Anyone 1.0.20

I’ve activated IA both sitewide and only on the BP blog. Same problem either way.

    @dwenaus – using WP Multisite 3.1.1
I’m really just trying to determine if the plugin is broken so I can stop trying to fix my WP install. Since I recreated the problem on a fresh install with no other plugins – I’m more confident the plugin is broken. No one had confirmed this specific problem until @pedroff (thanks!).

No need for ‘lol’ regarding paid support but my use of buddypress is to support the nonprofit I work for. I use what works and understand the risk of limited support. I try to offer constructive feedback. My preference is to limit our use of plugins… unfortunately the added features that plugins offer are hard to resist 🙂

Thanks for the quick reply. I reactivated link-library so you can see what’s happening on the front end. The RRS link content is populating the content area of the page (after listing the warning/errors in the header and in the widget area). You can see 3 sections of the page with link-library activated here:

The same page live with link-library deactivated:

I’m not sure how the RRS Preview mode OR inline RSS content would be different. I’ve selected the RSS Preview on the backend but it looks like inline content on the frontend. Let me know which I’m using. Thanks for your help.

Not sure if this is the best long term solution but it’s currently working for me:

Can confirm that groupblog 1.3.1 is broken for me. Any idea why DaNiel doesn’t have the same issue? Any solutions are welcome 🙂

@ftr – Thanks for the feedback. I’m not familiar enough with php to know whether you are just sharing info or suggesting a fix. I went to change line 40 but found it is just as you posted. Should line 40 be changed? If yes, how exactly? Thanks!

I can confirm that feedwordpress is the cause of this problem for blogs on my wpmu installation. I noticed the issue after upgrading buddypress to 1.1+. (wpmu 2.8.4a). I don’t seem to have the problem when disabling buddypress. Are others seeing the problem without using buddypress?

@edporteous – unfortunately for feedwordpress users the offending line remains in the ‘updated’ rss.php file that is used with this plugin.
(This is a drop-in replacement for the rss-functions.php provided with the WordPress 1.5 distribution, which upgrades the version of MagpieRSS from 0.51 to 0.8a.)

Installed and activated. At ‘Notification Settings’ page I select a group discussion to subscribe to. Saving Changes worked but resulted in the following error. I can recreate the error by going to the ‘Notification Settings’ page and Saving (this is even with no subscriptions to any group discussions).

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/xxxxxx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/group-forum-subscription-for-buddypress/bp-group-forum-subscription.php on line 304

update: I just installed the latest (2.1 beta) from the trunk. The same error upon activation and deactivation. The deactivation results in a blank white page with the following at the top:

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/ttacconn/public_html/wp-content/plugins/new-bbpress-admin-1/bbpress_admin.php:12) in /home/ttacconn/public_html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 865

I also can not activate the plugin without getting the following error message. The plugin indicates it is activated but there is no administrative backend interface. I only have Akismet activated:

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/ttacconn/public_html/wp-content/plugins/bbpress_admin.php:12) in /home/ttacconn/public_html/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-xprofile/bp-xprofile-signup.php on line 5

    wpmu 2.8.2
    buddypress 1.0.3
    bbpress 1.0.2
