Thank you Clayton.
I’m not an expert in computer programming or website development by any means. But when I called Hostgator, the Hostgator helpdesk guy told me that the database was there and had been restored. He said it was the original “backed up” database with all my data/information to restore the site. Since I can’t actually see anything (they are looking at it and I wouldn’t know what to look at even if I could see something) how do I tell Hostgator to import a recovered database? I thought that was what I already paid them money to do (and they said they had done it). I’m open to any suggestions. The Hostgator guy seemed to think it was a WordPress issue and not a database issue. Thanks again for your help on this.
PS I do have access to Filezilla if I should be able to do something with that? Just tell me what/how to get the correct database back. I suspect that is something that Hostgator had backed up – because I had not backed it up. Thanks
