I’m sorry to hear this things about your experience with ROP. Your problem is vague related and we were not able to replicate on our environments. For us and many other users the plugin is working as expected and your problem might be related by a bad server configuration.

Yes, we are thinking to bring this into the next version. Regarding a quick workaround you could add a customf ield and fill in by yourself with the author name. After this you could use the custom field in the tweet content.
