In reply to: Question about pingingEach service has a different limit. In reality it won’t matter on your end, if you ping to often for a service they just reject the update and go with the last valid ping.
Here is a service that pings many sites at once:

In reply to: Frustrated with ThemesYou are entitled to your opinion certainly but I would suggest you’re are in an extreme minority. The fact there are so many themes being created only serve to display how popular the 1.5 version is.
Please organize the themes for single, double and three columns. Develope a standard for each of these three and establish those as “Themes”.
Every list I have seen plainly delineate the number of columns. There is a “standard” they are called “default” and “classic” and come bundled with 1.5
Please discourage the flood of themes that are nothing more than a different banner picture and background color.
How do you discourage creativity?
Besides those that only change backgrounds and banners aren’t “themes,” just someone’s idea of improvments to the theme they have chosen to use.

In reply to: Updated to “Stayhorn.” Now im confused.Lets start here, with a couple questions first. It will be easier too help if it is understood how and why the page is the way it is.
Why did you not import your CSS file, vice embed in the head section on index.php? And secondly why is there no css that styles your comment page. Do you have anything in your css for a comment page?
As far as the “generator” goes that should have been automaticly coded when your install or upgrade was done. The fact that it is missing suggests you hacked the code manually.
And finally what version of WP are you on, I assume 1.5 and what theme have you based your style on?

In reply to: Updated to “Stayhorn.” Now im confused.I just accessed your comments page and got the header and the right sidebar. The main column where the comment entry data should be is blank.
Check to ensure you are calling up the “comments.php” file.
You also might have a look at the source code of your index page. To be honest it is a mess.As an example under meta name generator fails to give the version of WordPress used. Also I note your CSS style sheet is entered in the source (vice imported into the document) and if this is the entire sheet it is missing any styles for a comment page.
With no style in the CSS their is no way to display the comment page.

In reply to: Enter to theme competitionWhat credit for CSS.
Your “theme” is 99.5% Kubrick, and .05% nden.
My suggestion? Go ahead and submit it, then return and let us know what happens. We all could use a good laugh.

In reply to: Trackback, How Long?Their are variables:
Does the other blog have moderation turned on. If so it won’t show til the owner looks at it and decides to post your trackback
How fast are the two servers. yours and his.
With no moderation and no other “speed issues” it should take seconds.
