That depends on how fast the other server is, how quickly the other blog’s software can process the trackback, whether or not the other blog’s author is moderating trackbacks, and whether or not the other blog’s author has disabled trackbacks entirely. IOW, I have no clue.
Their are variables:
Does the other blog have moderation turned on. If so it won’t show til the owner looks at it and decides to post your trackback
How fast are the two servers. yours and his.
With no moderation and no other “speed issues” it should take seconds.
