Hi there noMATTERdesign. My hosting provider is Bluehost. I did both. I kept the domain mapping that was already established using the MU Domain Mapping plugin. In addition I had to park the domain names on our server and also add the subdomains. Hope this helps ya!!

We got everything back up and running. Turns out it was our bluehost server. For whatever reason we now have to park each domain on the sever rather than just adding A records to the domains zone file.

I was able to get the sunrise.php file working. I re-installed the plugin via ftp rather than the wordpress admin dashboard and it worked.
However still having the same problem with the sub-domains site and dashboard redirecting to 404.
