    Hi Marko,

There are two things you should check, but first there is also a wealth of information on the official blog that you should check out for more information at http://catablog.illproductions.com/

I believe I addressed this issue in the post about release 1.2.5. Now, how to solve your problem.

First: make sure the jQuery selector is set to .catablog-image in the lightbox tab of the CataBlog Options Admin Panel.

Second: make sure to reload the gallery template in CataBlog to get compatibility with the latest plugin enhancements.

Good luck and let me know if you fix your problem,

A new version of CataBlog, 1.2.7 will be released very soon and one of the features is going to be bulk category edits. It might be a bit of an elementary implementation of it, but still should a least be a step in the right direction for your mind numbing concern…

First off, I wanted to clarify that IE9 is also available for Windows Vista.

Here are a few links that I found online about IE9 and jQuery, the JavaScript library that the CataBlog LightBox depends on.

    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ie/archive/2011/03/02/jquery-1-5-1-supports-ie9.aspx

    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/iewebdevelopment/thread/d946470d-5bd2-4412-8277-570da07daace/

I fear that WordPress itself will need to upgrade its built in version of jQuery to 1.5.1 or 1.6, otherwise I will need to include an updated version within the plugin. This could cause all sorts of issues, since other plugin developers might not expect or want me to load the newest 1.6 version instead of the 1.4.4 version that is built into WordPress.

Their should only by one version of jQuery loaded on a page, and I really don’t want to add unnecessary complexity or conditional code within the plugin to solve this problem. I will continue to research and possibly drop $299 on Windows 7 as a business expenses. I guess my paying clients are gonna want me to test their sites in IE9 now that is it public and growing in popularity. I’ll let you know what I find.

I’m sorry if that comment was a little harsh, I have wanted to get my hands on IE9 for awhile now and its so frustrating what Micro$oft did. I develop CataBlog on Mac OS 10.6 and use vmware to run Windows XP Pro. So far it has worked well for me, but I am gonna have to go buy a version of Windows 7 now, and I am not excited about it. My personal belief is that all web browsers should be free, and if there are specific OS requirements, let a service like spoon give people access to your browsers through emulation. If you haven’t heard of spoon before it is awesome, they let you run applications through cloud computing, so you can test almost every browser, including lots of old ones like Firefox 2. Currently spoon is only on Windows, but I hope one day they will release their software for Mac or Linux.

This is the first I have heard of this, so thanks for the report. Could you be more specific as to what version of CataBlog and WordPress you are using? Also if you are using a custom theme, could you try switching back to twentyten and seeing if that fixes it. Also disable all other plugins to make sure it is CataBlog that is causing the error.

Keep in mind that previous versions of IE have stopped execution of all scripts If there is even one error in any of your page’s JavaScript . Chrome, Firefox and other browsers do not exhibit this behavior, so that could also be your issue. Also, If you are using CataBlog 1.2.6, could you try switching to an older version, perhaps 1.2.5.3, and see if that fixes the problem.

Why I haven’t tested in IE9 yet: I don’t own a copy of Windows 7 and I don’t pirate software. I know that isn’t an excuse, but it is the situation. Since IE9 is only available for Windows 7, I will need to pay $250 dollars to test IE9, sorry I’m not doing that anytime soon Micro-rip-off. Does someone who uses CataBlog want to buy me a copy….

Also, you could use the CSV import feature, here would be the steps I would take.

    1. Upload your images via FTP
    2. Rescan your originals folder
    3. Export a CSV version of your catalog
    4. Edit the CSV, adding in all categories (separate categories with a vertical bar, | )
    5. Import the new CSV file with the replace all option checked.
    6. Viola, done 🙂

Hope that helps you out until I get more bulk actions done, cheers!

    Zorgatos,

Thank you so much for your compliments, I don’t have a lot of time to spend describing all the planned features, just know that two bulk actions are in the works for CataBlog 1.2.6, edit category and regenerate images. I can’t think of any other fields right now that need to be bulk editable, maybe price.

Drag and drop reordering was available in 1.1 and 1.2 of CataBlog, and everyone complained that it was to hard to use with large libraries, so I removed it and plan on implementing some kind of gallery or collection system that will let people drag and drop reorder within each gallery. I can get into the technical details about this later, but you may also read my blog posting about it at http://catablog.illproductions.com/2011/04/ordering-multiple-categories/

One thing to keep in mind with bulk edits, it can be very easy to create thousands of database queries in one page load. So these are features I need to design well and test thoroughly before releasing. Again thanks for you interest in CataBlog and if you have a chance and haven’t already, please

A code refactoring caused this error, by putting the system requirements checks into a PHP 5 only class. You need to upgrade your server’s version of PHP to version 5.0 or later, it is a requirement for CataBlog. It also is a good idea since PHP 6, while not in mainstream use, is publicly available. You may talk to your hosting provider or system admin about upgrading.

    Hi kfs84,

Did my answer help you solve your problem? Where you able to implement CataBlog the way you wanted?

    Plugin Author macguru2000

    (@macguru2000)

If I understand you correctly you want to control the target attribute of the links on a per page basis. With the new CataBlog 1.2.5 this may be done with templates. This will be a three step process, but first make sure to upgrade to version 1.2.5 and get it working.

    1. Make sure you have the target attribute set to _blank in the CataBlog Options.

    2. Create two template files on your server at /wp-content/plugins/catablog/templates/views/. Name your files something like custom.htm and popup.htm. Edit these files so they contain the exact content from the CataBlog Options Template Tab textarea. Now remove the %LINK-TARGET% token from the custom.htm file. You now have two custom templates.

    3. Go to your main page and add the template option to the shortcode like this, [catablog category="dogs" template="custom"]. Do the same thing for your sub-pages but make sure to set the template option to popup instead of custom. Do not include the file extension (.htm) in the shortcode.

Let me know if you get that working and if you have any problems.
