In reply to: Links within PagesOkay, much confusion. First of all, the sites you have referenced at the bottom are wrong. The one at the top is right. Hard to get help when the links don’t work.
I’m not sure what you are trying to do. If you have categories set up, do you want those to show up on the front page or not?
They will automatically. Or you can customize them to only be seen on specific category pages.
You are going to have to be a little more clear about this.
I recommend you check out the WordPress Codex at http://codex.wordpress.org/ to get more information on what you want to do. And for just making links:

In reply to: Review my simple blog.I like the nice clean simple look. It’s refreshing after seeing so many cluttered blogs. I love the intense blue header, but the title seems lost in that intense color. Add a little font something there to make it more powerful, or just move the text over to the right or left. Let that lovely blue color have importance.
Also the “uber l33t” has been used to death. Consider something else.
Now that you have that dynamic blue header, consider incorporating the same tone into other subtle parts of your page. Like in the line along the blockquotes. The text is way too light there and should be enhanced rather than faded out, and the bar would be nice to have blue there.
I’d also echo the blue header background in the footer. Tie it all together.
The little double arrows in the sidebar list scream “Kubrick” layout, and I personally think it would be nice to replace them with very small blue ball bullets or arrows, very simple, but again, carrying forward the blue color in subtle ways.
On the single post view, the sidebar is gone, and there is no navigation controls on the page. With 11 categories, this makes movement from a single post around on your site a bit challenging. While people can use the back button, it isn’t as inviting as “Oh, this is interesting, now where do I find more….well, shoot, I have to back out of this to go looking.”
I love the simple look. Keep it simple, just add a little continuity of the color throughout. Very good job.

In reply to: The current_motherpage classAre you talking about Pages or post pages?
http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/wp_list_pages
All list items (
- ) generated by this tag will be given the CSS class “page_item”. When wp_list_pages is called while displaying a Page, the list item for that Page will be given the additional CSS class “current_page_item”.

In reply to: Printable documentationIf you would like, there is a document on the Codex that has links to the most important “info” and first steps you need to consider when learning WordPress. If you need printed out documentation, I’d print out the articles from this list to get started.

In reply to: Uploading filesCheck the name of the file. Are their spaces or illegal characters like ? or * in the name? Check to make sure the folder you are uploading to has the “permissions” that will allow you to change the contents within that folder:

If this still isn’t working with WordPress’ Upload feature, try an FTP program. If it continues to not work, then contact your server host and ask them for help on this issue.

In reply to: Compulsory Registration, but still got some spamWhat is happening is that as hard as everyone works on WordPress and Plugins, spammers spend more time and money trying to find a way through.
I had a few slip in but since installing Bad Behavior, I know only get spam that there is no way to prevent, like children playing games or manual link spamming, the normal but very limited junk.

In reply to: Newbie needs help customizing column widths…In Firefox, click Tools, Extensions, Get More Extensions and then search for Web Developer tools.
From there, after installing and restarting Firefox, it will add a new tool bar. Click on the green puzzle piece while viewing your site and choose Edit CSS. Then find the different site architecture parts and pieces and make your changes and you will see them change instantly on the screen. Be sure and save or copy and paste your changes into your style sheet when you get it “just right”.
Modifying a theme isn’t easy. It takes a lot of knowledge about CSS. Check out the Codex for more help to walk you through this at:
