In reply to: [BotBlocker] [Plugin: BotBlocker] Accused me of being a spambot! Thanks, Brandon! It behaved just right, so I’ll leave it activated and see if any bots get tagged. I have WP set to send me all comment submissions for approval.
Maybe it had something to do with my being the admin and submitting a comment. (?)

In reply to: Install Older Version to Regain Lost Control? Thanks, ET! The wp-admin was there with its index.php and a zillion other files. However, I renamed it to wp-admin0 and uploaded a fresh copy.
I was able to log in, the database was automatically updated, and all is now well.
I wish I knew what went wrong, but I’m mighty glad it’s gone right!

In reply to: Install Older Version to Regain Lost Control? Thanks, ET! Yes, that allows me to log in, but here’s a screen capture of what I get after I login:
http://www.drlanelester.com/screenshot.pngAs you can see, I get some kind of toolbar at the top showing I’ve logged in, and a 404 page below it. The URL in the browser is http://www.antiochbaptist-mtairyga.net/wp-admin/

In reply to: Since Upgrading to 3.3.1, wp-admin Not AvailableOK, I think I’ve solved the problem. What I was seeing was the Double-Login.php protection in action, but since my username had gotten changed, I was not able to log in.
Anyway, all seems to be well now, and I appreciate your response that got me to investigating other options.

In reply to: Since Upgrading to 3.3.1, wp-admin Not AvailableThanks, I was able to use that link to log in. However, something is really messed up. I was not able to log in with what I KNOW is my username; I had to use the older “admin” and get a new password.
Even after I logged in successfully, I was taken to a Page rather than the admin dashboard. I manually typed in the …/wp-admin URL and again got the same result.
I’ve been using the Double-Login.php protection. Maybe it’s broken, although it’s been trouble-free up to now. I’ll try to remove it and see how it goes.

Yes! Both the export and the import now work. Thank you very much for that patch. It took me a little while to read back through the thread and pick up which file to edit, so I’ll repeat that here:
The patch applies to wordpress-seo/inc/wpseo-non-ajax-functions.php
I just want to add my “vote” to this bug report. Sure hope it gets fixed, because I have a bunch of sites I’d like to use this with and no desire to have to go through the whole process for each.

In reply to: Database Weirdnesses: Site Works, DB Backup Empty, Can't UpgradeI was going to file a ticket with my hosting company, but I decided to try something first to give me more to report.
I tried to create a new folder myself with FTP, and I got this error:
550 Can’t create directory: Disk quota exceeded
: /public_html/wp-content/upgrade/dummyI just had too much stuff in that account! After I upgraded its quota, the WP and plugin updates went smoothly.
Live and learn!

In reply to: Themes (wp-admin) Page Blank After WP UpgradeWell, I guess there’s a problem with the update, but I don’t know how to identify or fix it.
I now have three items in the themes folder: two folders (default, twentyten) and index.php.
The default folder is actually a copy of twentyten, and that’s the theme displaying my site.
And the Themes page still comes up blank.

In reply to: Themes (wp-admin) Page Blank After WP UpgradeSome more observations, but no solution in sight:
I deleted the old Default theme and renamed Twenty Ten’s filename to default.
Now the site shows up just fine in the Twenty Ten theme… but the wp-admin Themes page still comes up blank.
I assume something in themes.php is finding something in the database that’s causing it to exit, but I don’t know PHP well enough to debug it.

In reply to: Themes (wp-admin) Page Blank After WP UpgradeOn second thought, it doesn’t make complete sense. The site displays just fine with the ancient Default theme. It’s just the Themes page that won’t display.
I deleted the other oldie, Classic, but the problem persists.
If I delete Default, then the site doesn’t display.

In reply to: Themes (wp-admin) Page Blank After WP UpgradeThanks, that makes sense! But how do you change a theme other than on the Themes page?
