In reply to: Easier Upgrade MethodThis is what I usually do
I extract the files for uploading into a folder and rename it wp-admin1 and wp-content1 and wp-includes1
Then I put my theme and plugin back into wp-content1
I just upload these folders online and then rename the original folder to something like wp-admin-old. Then I rename wp-admin1 into wp-admin. There is almost no downtime for me.
Finally I upload the rest of the files onto my root folder.
It would be great if WordPress installer backs up the tables that may be changed on update for me though.

In reply to: Commentor’s email got revealedSeems like there isn’t exactly a fix for this problem. I checked with both my friends. They are not using Google Accelerator. Also, they are not registered users in my WordPress blogs. They are not using public computers too.

In reply to: Commentor’s email got revealedI do not have those Google stuff. I remember of one occasion when I was not shown to be logged in when I actually am. Instead of seeing myself as logged in the comments field, I am actually returned with the usual comments text boxes and I have to fill in the particulars.
I do not have Google Accelerator, neither do viv (one of the person whose email got exposed). I doubt Milky (another person who encounter this) has Google Accelerator.
As for the caching plugin, I do not have the in my blog. The installed plugins are as follows:
- Gravatar
- RunPHP
- Textile
- my little plugin to retrieve recent comments that should not be a problem
Any other suggestions? Thanks.

In reply to: .php files aren’t displayingThis seems similar to http://wordpress.org/support/topic.php?id=23405
I have to download to view post.php, options-general.php etc in the admin panel. index.php is affected too. 🙁
Anyway, I tried downloading it, the page received is in HTML format and contains no PHP codes in it.

In reply to: .php files aren’t displayingI thought it may be a host problem. But it seems this problem only occurs in the new 1.5.
I have 1.2.2 installed in my site, it works fine. I have a gamma versiion of 1.5 installed and that worked fine too. Only in the 1.5 strayhorn that the problem occurs. I’m puzzled.

In reply to: Dashboard loads slow when WP site is downi am not sure if this is true, i haven’t experience it personally. but if it were to be true, i would agree that priority should be the speed of loading the dashboard. i like the aggregator, but it shouldn’t slow down loading time to the dashboard

In reply to: Safe to update to beta?that’s strange.. for me, the plus point would be pages, themes are cool too
