Was there any solution to this? I actually need to setup serial numbers for physical products as well and am having trouble finding a solution.
@amsgator did you find a solution? I tried switching my permalinks as @alexwcoleman said but I am still having the issue.

Thanks for the link but I’ve already gone through that and still can’t figure out how to resolve this issue unfortunately.
Nevermind, I found the option. I must be blind today!
