In reply to: XML is too big to importDepending on the server setting, will depend if you can edit the php.ini file, and if that will make a difference assuming you do. I would suggest you actually contact the host to have them help you with this. They will give you the best practice for their server, and may even do it for you.

In reply to: Can't access admin page after WP installIf you are wanting to self host then yes. Not sure your reasoning for going self hosted, but you need to make sure that your entire site is moved over to GoDaddy prior.

If your site isn’t really having any big changes to it(i.e. Themes, Plugins, etc), then I would suggest staying on the WP servers and saving a buck or two.

In reply to: add background image to just the page area of just one pageI am not 100% sure which area of the page you are referring to in the question, but I think this plugin would totally rock it out for you: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-backgrounds-lite/
If I missed your question, let me know the exact area you are trying to set and I will try again…and maybe with code this time!

In reply to: Can't access admin page after WP installFrom what I can tell you are sitting on WordPress servers, and not actually “self-hosting.” If you were self-hosting with GoDaddy then you would be pointing the domain to their servers, and would have moved the content. But, what I am seeing is that you just point the DNS for the domain name to WordPress DNS. With all that said, this doesn’t look to be that big of an issue.
http://kusadama.wordpress.com/ redirects to http://kusadama.com/ and http://kusadama.com/wp-admin redirects to http://kusadama.wordpress.com/wp-admin .Try updating some content and see if it updates on http://kusadama.com/ . I would bet it does.

In reply to: Appearance Widget link goneIt appears that this tread has stalled, but I think just wanted to add that whoever your webhost is should have a backup that they can restore to if you ask them. Don’t know if you want to go into all of that, but that is a option.
If that doesn’t work, then unfortunately it looks like you would need a programmer to become a little “hands on” with it. I would suggest elance if you don’t know anyone personally.

In reply to: Appearance Widget link gone… also try disabling all plugins.
Yeah, it could be a plugin or a couple plugins that are conflicting. Thanks for wrapping that up for me, Rajesh 🙂

In reply to: Appearance Widget link goneThe Appearance area is a core function of a WP install, and while a theme may make some changes to some options, it shouldn’t remove any area. I think you really have three steps to figure this one out:
1. Change the theme and see if it pops up (then you know it is a theme issue)
2. If it doesn’t, then you know something has happened to your install.
3. If it’s your install or your theme, the easiest way to fix it is going to be a restore of a backup when it was working.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Appearance Widget link goneI thought you were saying your were getting an error. When did the area go missing?
If you can’t get there by typing in the URL directly then it sounds like the theme or the install is actually broken. You might need to do a restore from a backup.
