I’d also like to change the font in the other boxes so that they match.
Thanks but it seems to have gone back to the way it was. What am I doing wrong? It worked the other day. But now, it seems to not respond.
Thanks. Here is my site:
It is on the right hand side. I tried to change the font type to Cardo as well as the size and wanted to make it white so you can actually see the writing. But none of the changes took.
Thanks so much for your help.
Thanks. I tried doing what you said but it didn’t seem to work. And now, I cannot seem to be able to change anything else – like font size, color, etc.
I am not sure what went wrong. I just changed the font it had – Georgia – to Cardo in the html.
Any other suggestions?

In reply to: Contact me widget? Thanks for the suggestion. I did create a separate ‘contact me’ page and connected the widget on my home page sidebar to that widget but then the whole widget disappeared, not just the ‘contact me’ form. I need the widget on the home page to draw people’s attention to a service I can offer and if they are interested, they can contact me.
Did I do something wrong?

In reply to: Icons or widgets are not showing up properly on home pageNo worries. All is good. The creator of the theme sent me this, which fixed it:
You have this error:
1 Font from origin ‘http://ecbiz173.inmotionhosting.com’ has been blocked from loading by Cross-Origin Resource Sharing policy: No ‘Access-Control-Allow-Origin’ header is present on the requested resource. Origin ‘http://www.robinkickmw.com’ is therefore not allowed access.
Means your loading the font through a url that isn’t the domain name of the size. You just need to make sure your site url inside the worpdress admin matches that url of the site. In your settings > general you should see the site url.I just needed to be sure that the url was the same on my server as in WordPress. It appeared one had www. before it and the other didn’t.
Thanks for your help, anyway.

In reply to: [Virtue] Icons are not showing up properly on homepageHi Hannah,
Thanks so much for your suggestion. I deactivated all the plug-ins and still have the problem. Any other suggestions?
I really like your theme and cannot wait to transfer my blog over to it too.
Cheers.

In reply to: Icons or widgets are not showing up properly on home pageThanks. I am using Chrome.
I will look into adding font awesome but since I have only followed the template, is that an innate problem with the theme?

In reply to: [Virtue] Need photo help with free Virtue themeI did figure out the page width after looking on the individual pages to the right hand side…and there it is.
I ended up cropping some of the pictures before uploading them which helped resolve the centering. I am not sure about making the pictures smaller. It seems like they are magnified to a certain degree and that is the way it is?

In reply to: Cannot get rid of little grey box on home pageThanks. Fair enough. I think it is a theme-based feature, and so I have contacted them. Thanks for your time.

In reply to: [Virtue] Icons are not showing up properly on homepageThanks. I will try, but it all looks incredibly complicated to me. As I mentioned, I am only a novice. I download the free Virtue theme and do not know anything about coding or FTP. I am concerned that this is all way over my head.
Links to social media seem like such a simple thing, so I am not sure what went wrong and why I need to go into special coding to fix it. 🙁
But I will try.

In reply to: [Virtue] Icons are not showing up properly on homepageThanks, but I am a total novice. What does it mean I need to put that code in the theme’s style sheet? Is that the CSS page? I have done that and it hasn’t seem to change anything.
Thanks for your help.

In reply to: [Virtue] Need photo help with free Virtue themeHere is my website: http://www.robinkickmw.com.
I have taken off the “coming soon” page. You can see the pictures on the home slider and can see that some of them do not contain the part of the picture that I need (e.g. my head is not even visible in the main one).
How can I tell the theme to focus on one part of the picture and not the other?
Also, is there a way to make some of the pics less big? The photo of myself looks huge. I have made the picture as well as the slider smaller and neither helped.
Thanks so much.

In reply to: [Virtue] Need photo help with free Virtue themeThanks for this. The Carousel slider is too small. I actually like some of the images to be cropped but was wondering if they could be a little smaller than what they are.
Also, they are not at all centered, which is a problem for some. How does one do that?
Thanks for letting me know about the default/full-width page template, but where do I change that?
I can provide a link and take down the “coming soon” page. Please let me know when someone might be able to take a look, and I will do it.
Thanks again so much. I REALLY appreciate it.
