In reply to: WordPress 2.8.4 Disaster with database charsetThanks so much. That works, but I’m very confused as to why that works. That is still in the sample wp-config file which comes with the wordpress installation and utf8 is the character set one would want too right?
Anyways, it worked, but would love to know why.

In reply to: Multi user, error showing author IDI’m getting this problem too, regular 1.5 installation upgraded and starting to have problems with wrong user showing up…any solution to this yet? Surely downgrading users is not a good way of putting an end to this…

In reply to: A Wanted Feature ListI really hope that Unicode becomes the default encoding or at the very least is fully supported. This will allow those of us who want to post in multiple languages to do so and doesn’t affect others. After changing the many encodings sprinkled throughout the code in the 1.0 release, I still found that Japanese postings in the comments are missing characters in random places (which reappear when you edit the comments in admin mode).
