Man, you’re preaching to the choir. I have BEGGED my bosses to swith to a *nix server, but they are freaked out that it’s going to go wrong.

I don’t NEED to be the go-between, but I’m trying to make it as easy on these guys as I can – lack of trust on my part.

The site I’m inquiring about is different than the one in my link. The company in question is a local Denver hosting company. Being based in Denver, my bosses thought it’d be nice ot have a local company – which also makes zero sense.

Problem is, it’s not my site – I’m just running it, and I can’t get the owners to switch. They are paranoid about this. This is why I hate running off of a Windows server.

So, if they install MySQL, they need to install php, too? MySQL doesn’t fix the problem?

I can’t change because it’s not my site – they just hired me to get some things set up on it.

Can’t change hosts. Hate to ask this, but is there another blog that will work without MySQL?

Well, I logged back onto my site, and it was working. If that’s beneficial to somebody, than I am glad to be of service. I’m guessing it was just a problem with my host (1and1.com). They suck, and mess things up from time-to-time.
