This is the link I used, and it worked. At least, when I went to my site, it prompted for a login, and when I entered the new password I had just used on the phpmyadmin page, I was successfully logged in.

I know this won’t help those of you who host your own website, but for those who wander in here looking for help with wordpress.com as I did, I hope it does help you.

It seems that when bluehost installed wordpress for me, we skipped the create a wordpress account step, so I never had a password. Bluehost got me in with a temporary password and gave me the above link to change it.

Thank you. I am working on that now. Hopefully, I will have good news to report.

Kieth Driscoll, that is what I thought too. The first time I needed a password to get in, I checked my list where I had written down passwords, and WordPress wasn’t there. I thought that maybe I had forgotten to write it down, but I didn’t install WordPress. BlueHost did it over the phone because I had called to cancel with BlueHost within a few minutes of signing up because I became concerned that I was going to have to purchase a framework and child theme and all of the plugins, etc.

I may need to go back to BlueHost.

    Thank you.

Before I try to reset my password at the link you gave me, I wanted to post the results so far. I tried all three passwords, the original and the two new. None worked.

Then I noticed that when I had copied and pasted the link, http://www.empty-nest-addiction.com/wp-admin I got redirected to http://www.empty-nest-addiction.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.empty-nest-addiction.com%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1

    Is that normal?

Also, when I use my username rather than my email to login, I get a message that tells me it is an invalid username; however, when I can successfully get the forgot password link to work, my email message from WordPress to change the password sends my username that it just told me was invalid:

Someone recently requested that the password be reset for kmckteeter.

I just cannot get in. 🙁
