In reply to: [Google Doc Embedder] Worked fine! Now doesn't work at all in SafariIn my experience this is usually a cookie related problem; try deleting your Google cookies in safari (or logging out/optionally logging back in to any Google account).

In reply to: [Google Doc Embedder] Worked fine! Now doesn't work at all in Safari“doesn’t work” is a bit vague… Please check the Notes page to see if any of the headings match the problem you’re having, or feel free to provide some details. There are no known issues with Safari.

In reply to: [Google Doc Embedder] Adobe Portfolio PDFThis appears to be a “feature” of the portfolio format for readers that aren’t capable of opening portfolio PDFs. Since I’m seeing that directly on Google Viewer, it appears it (and therefore GDE) does not support this format of PDF at this time.

In reply to: [Google Doc Embedder] When will be ready for multisite?gksr, thanks for your input. As I recall network activation was difficult because of the way profiles and settings are stored on a per-install basis, not a per-site basis. But I’m sure there is a solution for this. Few people have expressed interest in this feature, so I haven’t been very diligent about pursing it. I will try to take another look at this after GDE 2.6 is released.

In reply to: Plugin breaks visual editor 3.9b1 – missing 'en.js'Sergey, thanks for your efforts – that fix is extremely helpful! Works for me now in trunk.

In reply to: Plugin breaks visual editor 3.9b1 – missing 'en.js'There are no specific steps – when GDE is installed and activated, the tinymce buttons do not appear at all for me, just the js error in the console and an empty visual editor area. The fact that it seems to be working normally for you though makes me inclined to wait for a later beta and see if the issue is not really there.
Here is a screen capture though of what I see, in case that clarifies the problem:
If it’s not working on Google’s Viewer service directly, there is something wrong with your document, or something wrong with Google’s viewer that would likely affect all browsers. I certainly have had my documents load normally in both browsers as recently as “right now” so if anyone can elaborate or provide an example, that might help narrow the issue. Thanks.

In reply to: [Google Doc Embedder] PDF not showing upDo you see anything, including only a download link (if applicable) or an error message? Or nothing at all?
Please check the Notes page linked to above which may provide the answer to your specific situation, or provide some more info here, such as an example link.
Thanks.

In reply to: [Google Doc Embedder] Intermittent issue with the enhanced viewerIf the first error is intermittent, it may be because of a slow response from the server where your document is hosted. You have a few choices, one of which is to host the document on a faster server (perhaps not worth it depending on your needs, but a Dropbox link typically responds quickly if that makes sense for you). Alternately, I will be increasing the timeout in the next version so you may find it become more rare. If you want to make that change in advance of any updated version, please contact me via the support tab in GDE Settings and I can provide some instructions for this specific change.
The second error is google generated, and unfortunately not documented. Thankfully it is rare but unfortunately I can’t control it with GDE.
Hope this helps,
Kevin

In reply to: Plugin breaks visual editor 3.9b1 – missing 'en.js'Unfortunately it’s still not working for me – all features appear fine except the editor integration, it appears to me to break the visual editor with this error in the console (Firebug on FF 27.0.1):
"NetworkError: 404 Not Found - [domain]/wp-content/plugins/google-document-embedder/js/langs/en.js"I’m running the version I get when I click “download nightly” which is WordPress 3.9-beta1-27501. But since it seems to be working on your end I will take another look when a new nightly or beta is released. Thanks for following up with me, I appreciate it.

In reply to: Plugin breaks visual editor 3.9b1 – missing 'en.js'I wasn’t able to get the visual editor to load with Google Doc Embedder activated, receiving the javascript error indicated above (missing en.js file beneath my plugin path, where I certainly haven’t put it). I’ll do some additional testing though; perhaps I was dealing with some cached files or something. Thanks for checking.

In reply to: [Google Doc Embedder] Error Retrieving fileYou’re getting a 404 error. Can you go to the document URL in your shortcode directly when you paste it into your browser address bar?
Without more info I can’t offer much more suggestion on this.

In reply to: [Google Doc Embedder] Adobe Portfolio PDFYou’ll have to try a portfolio file in Google’s standalone viewer first to see if it’s supported:
https://docs.google.com/viewer
If it doesn’t work there, it won’t work in GDE, either.
