In reply to: [Exifography] New EXIF Fields & Update Existing Field DataI was interested in adding the location (one that I enter since I do not have GPS for camera). I also wanted to add support mechanism (tripod or handheld). Maybe time of day, time of year. Things like that that go beyond just the date and time. I want to make it appear friendly for viewers. I think I can add these by adding new fields to the media uploader.
However, the bigger issue for me is to be able to edit the actual EXIF data. Not all my photos have it, and I do not have the raw files for all of them to update. I was looking at using wp_get_attachment_metadata to grab the metadata, put it into media uploader fields, and the update the metadata with wp_update_attachment_metadata. That does not seem to work very well.
I suppose this modification attempt is well beyond the plugin. I am sure I came up with something.
Really great plugin. And thanks for the awesome support.

In reply to: [Exifography] New EXIF Fields & Update Existing Field DataI think I see how to add new fields (http://www.kristarella.com/2009/04/add-image-exif-metadata-to-wordpress/). Not sure about editing the field values individually. Thanks.
Any solutions to this? I’ve tried disabling and reenabling. Disconnecting and reconnecting. Disabling plugins. Nothing seems to work.
If you have JavaScript disabled you will not see anything, otherwise it should be viewable.
There are 4 slides and I am not using the group any longer.
I will ask one of my developers to give you admin access. Thanks.
I was using homepage as the name and using the latest version. The link is http://www.practicalmarketingguides.com
Thanks.
If I don’t specify the group, then it works. So something is going on with that. Since I have only one group, the workaround is fine for me.
Thanks for the reply
It’s unfortunate Joost won’t create a solution or offer an explanation, but I suppose understandable from his perspective since it would be a lot of effort. I am looking at ways of modifying the plugin myself for clients since I do a lot of multi-lingual sites, but as you point out the required maintenance looks to be a nightmare to keep it updated.
Cool. Thanks.
It doesn’t look like they are going to fix this issue. They’ve promised for some time now, but they never do it.
Anyway, you can resolve this by going to Security –> System Tweaks. Under “Server Tweaks” (the first section on the page) uncheck “Filter Suspicious Query Strings” and that should take care of it.
The redirection string was causing an issue. Shouldn’t be considered suspicious, but it is. If the plugin is ever updated, you will want to reenable this.
Hope that helps people.
This seems like a nice plugin, but it really isn’t free if you want to do anything beyond the basics. I can’t see paying a subscription for documentation. Maybe a one time fee, but a monthly subscription is a bit absurd.
I am confused why esmi is responding for bit51 (it is their plugin).
If it is true that the issue will not be corrected, that is pretty bad. I recommend this plugin to a lot of my clients and on many blogs that I write for. This error is not insignificant. It should be corrected.
There is a solution–commenting out or removing the offending lines in the .htaccess file–but there should be a better resolution.
Looks like I will have to stop recommending this plugin until it is fixed.
Is there a solution or work around for this–even temporary? It’s causing issues with a membership site I have. I would like to keep using the plugin because I think it’s great overall, but getting a 403 error on log out just looks bad and reflects poorly on my business.
I receive the same error. No response to your post in 2 weeks, so it looks like the plugin author isn’t too concerned about this. That’s unfortunate.

In reply to: Problem with PermalinksSorry to hear you had problems. It’s very frustrating. Check out this post: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-wp-e-commerce-update-causes-problems?replies=48. You are not alone! The issues never really was solved as far as I know.
My suggestion is to seek out some other options. There are a few and some of them don’t cost too much ($35-$100) and they seem to work better. I personally have stopped using WP E-commerce for my new sites. It just takes to much effort to clean up, get going, and maintain.
Good luck!
