PMPro documentation and support is available at $19/month right now.

Here is some public code with one way of integrating PMPro with WP-Ecommerce.

    Good luck.

You are charging a MONTHLY fee for documentation? wow, insane. I can see charging for support and custom integrations, but not for basic documentation.

I may have to convince the client to use another members plugin, one that at least offers docs on how to use it along with the plugin.

We charge for some of the documentation so that the software can be available for free.

Over time the amount of documentation available for free vs. subscription will change.

For a basic setup, here is a tutorial video:

I hope you use our plugin obviously. If you use another, let me know which one.

Thanks for that but basic setup is usually pretty easy..
What we’re looking for is integration, hooks, locking down some parts of the site (either pages, or parts of posts / cart items), and so on.

We’ve used s2Members Pro for previous clients.

This seems like a nice plugin, but it really isn’t free if you want to do anything beyond the basics. I can’t see paying a subscription for documentation. Maybe a one time fee, but a monthly subscription is a bit absurd.

jstearn, our PMPro Member plan is now a one time fee of $97 for one year of access.

Some people liked the monthly fees instead of the one time fees, but we found that most people were using their support membership to setup their site and then never came back. In our minds one time use = one time fee.

That price is in line with other paid membership plugins and other WP plugins.

Our model is to keep the software itself free and open source to encourage community involvement. We charge for support and various documentation. Some documentation is available for free. Some documentation really requires support along with it to make use of it.

I hope you try out the plugin.

FYI I’ve just updated most of our documentation to be available to FREE users on our site. Check it out.

I think you’re totally entitled to charge for support – the plugin works well from what I can see so far and IS free to install and use. jstearn – if you’re using this for client sites, then costs like this should be built into your fee. What’s more, if $97 is more than what you or your client expect to make from a membership-website in a year, then I’d suggest a different approach to making money from your site.

@strangerstudios – thank you for making more of the documentation free.
