  • Ok I found a fix for everyone, it is a issue with the plugin. Below I am posting a the original from sblentlinger.

Go to the plugin settings, go to the General settting, permelink tab,

enter the following for each field:
    user/login
    user/register
    user/lostpassword

    ——————————-
    Original post below

I am having the same exact issue. No new plugins were added, we just updated to WP 3.4.1 and we now have a redirect loop issue.
this is the text we would get:
    ———————————-
The webpage at http://www.paylinedata.com/login has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer.
    Here are some suggestions:
    Reload this webpage later.
    Learn more about this problem.
Error 310 (net::ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS): There were too many redirects.
    ———————————————-

I did find a workaround that seems to work for now. If you go into the settings of the plugin under the “General” section of the settings there is a series of text fields with Login, Register, Forgot Password and Profile with a text field next to each. I put in user/login, user/register.. etc. and this seemed to work and no more redirect error. It would be great if the developer would issue a fix though!

Ok I have disabled all my plugins and am still having the redirect loop problem. So it is not a conflict with another plug in.

I am having the same problem. Did the update to the new wordpress and theme my login. Everything worked before, now having the redirect problem.

HOW TO PLACE GRAND SLIDER IN THE HEADER??

The slide show is displayed where ever you put the shortcode. So you can put it anywhere you are going to display text.

As far as multiple slide shows. If you are having problems make sure you don’t have other plugins that are also slider show types that might conflict. I had a rotating news post plugin I was using that was conflicting with Grand Slider before.

    touch responsive for mobile devices?

Is grand slider touch responsive so one can slide the pictures with a finger on e.g. iphone or ipad??

Not that I know of. I will try to check it out, in my use of it I have the control buttons disabled.

Sorry I wasn’t too specific in my post. I believe I tried it with no data and changing it and deleting the data. I will try again later and see if I still have the same problems. Thanks for your hard work.

Found new problem. When using [pagelist_ext] and specifying a number such as [pagelist_ext number=”2″] it doesn’t display anything. Additionally when using other function such as [pagelist_ext offset=”1″] also results in nothing being displayed.

This is the only code i have displayed on the page. Each subpage only have one sentence. So tehre should be no reason nothing is displayed. I have 4 sub pages. All display correctly when just using [pagelist_ext]

    Ok one more post.
I upped my rating from one star to two. I will up it again once he gets decent instructions up.

I have found two problems with the way this operates.

    1. While loading it will often flash on your screen all the slides in your set. Although it disappears it looks very unprofessional for about 2-3 seconds as it loads. Seems like need to enable some pre-cache.

    2. Haven’t figured out how to get the slideshow to just restart from the beginning, instead it rewinds. Again it works , but looks pretty silly.

Ok a followup to my first post. The slider does work once you finally figure it out. I would even say that it is straight forward if you know how to do it, so let me explain it here for others that maybe confused.

    Instructions on use:
After installing go to the section on the Dashboard called “Grand Slides”. Here you will be able to create “Posts” called “Grand Slides” or “Slides.

    1. Create slide(s)
    – Create a new slide
+ Give it a name, this doesn’t seem to matter elsewhere so call it what you like.
    – Adding Picture(s)
+ In general for each picture you want to display you will want to create a slide.
+ It seems to work best if you do not place the picture in the HTML section. Rather use the “Set Featured Imagine” of the “Featured Imagine” property setting box. Once you select the photo make sure you select the hyperlink “Use as Featured image” not “Insert into Post”.
    – Adding text overlays
+ In the HTML section have it set to “Visual” then select the tool button with the google looking G on it.
+ On the popup select “Sliding Options” Tab. Set your options and then hit “insert”. This puts the shortcode for the overlay text into your box.
+ Change the “Your Content Here” to the text you want to have show over your slide picture.
+ Hint: You can add several of these to each picture by just adding more shortcodes.
    – Write down the “Slide Id”, ok this is the part they leave out. There is NO slide id, instead it uses the number from your permalink. Problem is it isn’t always a number at the end is it? The easiest way to find it is hold your cursor over the hyperlink and write down the 3 or four digits at the end such as “http://www.xyz.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=680” you would note 680.

    2. Creating the slide show
Note: you can use the generated shortcode in any textbox display you have on your site. For purpose of these instructions I will simply use a post as an example.
    – Create a post (doesn’t matter what you call it)
    – Create the shortcode
+ In the HTML section have it set to “Visual” then select the tool button with the google looking G on it.
+ On the popup this time select “Slider Options” Tab. Set your options and then hit “insert”.
+ The only option that matters to make it work is what you put in the “Slide ID”. From the slide setup steps above place the id numbers of your “Slides” in this format slide_id=”676,680,682″

Ok I hope this helps any lost kittens out there. 🙂
