In reply to: [WooCommerce] WooCommerce Adds “-2” in all Product URLsI tried the Better Search Replace plugin. I did a dry run search for “Universe” (case sensitive on). I searched every single WooCommerce table and it found two instances in the
wp_woocommerce_sessionstable. However, I can’t find where they are or how the first one was ever created.Just for giggles, I created four test “products” using odd names (“Fourth test of duplicaiton system” and such). I tried saving as draft first, using same category as most of the products, adding or not adding featured images, etc. 4 out of 4 had no “-2” added. That means that, somehow, the system thinks the other products are duplicates.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] WooCommerce Adds “-2” in all Product URLsAnother theory I had: it’s seeing the same title in a post. However, I dismissed this because this product has “-2” and it was added days before I even created the associated post.
Product (added 12 Aug 2018): https://www.johnrothra.com/store/devotionals/three-steps-to-peace-2/
Associated Post (created & published 14 Aug 2018): https://www.johnrothra.com/devotionalteaching/christian-living/three-steps-to-finding-peace-in-life-and-in-the-world/In order to have the product think it’s a duplicate of the post, the post would have had to be created (even if not published) first. It was created two days later.
So, here’s the problem:
– Original products getting the -2 designation as if they are duplicates
– No duplicates can be found anywhere
– No plugins are creating duplicatesI’m baffled!

I ran the Old Slugs tool. I still can’t alter the permalink of the products without it automatically re-adding the “-2.”
I checked the media files, none have the same URL or the same file name. Similar, but not the same:
Media: “YouTube-Devotionals-Devo-Title.jpg”
Product: “devo-title”Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [WooCommerce] WooCommerce Adds “-2” in all Product URLsI’ll check out that plugin.
As to the media URLs, even if the image file has the same name, the URL should be different, right? So, I’m not seeing how that could create a duplicate.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] WooCommerce Adds “-2” in all Product URLsI tried doing that. The system automatically re-adds the “-2” to the URL.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] WooCommerce Adds “-2” in all Product URLsAny new thoughts?
I just submitted the trouble ticket.
One more question for @oceanwp –
Could this be an issue with the Portfolio add-on itself? I ask this because, if so, I’ll create a trouble ticket for it since it’s a premium add-on. If it’s not the add-on, then this can stay on this forum.
While trying to determine of this is related to the theme (it’s the free version, which is why I’m posting all this here) or Elementor (free version), I tried removing the red area. The images now bleed over the footer unless I re-size the browser.
Okay, just for giggles (and a test I was confident wouldn’t work, but figured give it a try anyway), I gave the Elementor container (the row) that holds the portfolio a z-index of 100. It moved the pictures on top of the colored area; it didn’t affect height.
Didn’t think that would work, but tried anyway.
@oceanwp –
I’m using Elementor, so I’m wondering if it’s not related to that, too.
@oceanwp –
That works, sort of. It creates a bunch of extra white space below the masonry images that on my 17″ laptop is unappealing (at least to me).
I took screen shots to show it.
Min Height Added
No Min Height (it initially had the images behind the red area, so to “fix” the problem, I shrank the browser’s size, then put it back to full size)Really? You sent me an email based on this thread soliciting me to be a client? This makes me feel like you’re lack of clarity was intentional so you could troll the forum for customers. I’m not sure if that’s a violation of the rules, but it should be.

You really need to be more specific. What CSS did you use? Pixels? Em? VH? Min/max height? So far you’ve pretty much just told me “fix it via css.” 🙁

Too much space above and below. I have it set at 5% padding, but it looks like what you did sets a min-height for that area.
