We use Elastic Email for some our own stuff and it has worked great. We also have our own email delivery if you wanted to try that out: https://www.wpemaildelivery.com/.
If you already have a SendPress Pro key just email help@sendpress.com and I will add some WP Email Delivery credits to your key so you can try it out.

do you still have Postman SMTP configured and emails still dont get sent?
also could you turn on the logs. they are under setttings > advanced. This should give a menu item called SPNL Logs. Hopefully we can find an error logged here. below is a screen shot of the setting

Thanks for trying us out.
1. This could be a bug. we are going to do some testing on our end we try and keep teh image alignment as best we can on import.
2. No you can use any mail delivery option you like with Pro. Either custom, mandrill, sendgrid or amazon. We also offer our own delivery option that does not require Pro https://www.wpemaildelivery.com/
3. When you make a custom template you can insert a template tag like {content-area-one} and the content from the post editor will be inserted just like the built in tempaltes.
4. If you use a custom template you can make them any size you like you control 100% of the html in the email. With custom templates in Pro you have full control over what you send.
