With respect to your query here, I have carried out tests on the date format issue raised here and I do not seem to replicate it from my end. Could you perhaps navigate to the Settings > General section and ensure that you set your date format to “F j, Y”.

In regards to your query here, each calendar in Simple Calendar caches the events queried from Google for a period of time and updates them at periodic intervals. You can change the default maximum interval for each individual calendar, in the Advanced tab in the calendar settings panel.
