In reply to: [WordPress Share Buttons Plugin – AddThis] Ho do i select my choice of buttonHi suanlian.
Thanks for letting us know about your issue.
For sharing buttons above and below content, you can hand select services by selecting the Select Your Own option under Services and then a service picker should show up on the page.
A service picker isn’t built in at this time for the sharing sidebar and the mobile sharing toolbar.
You can change the services in the Sharing Sidebar using our Smart Layers API. To do this, go to the Advanced Options tab within the plugin settings and look for “addthis.layers() initial paramater (json format)”:
http://screencast.com/t/a4vXiGD3GrmnUsing our API, you can specify which services you’d like to appear:

In reply to: [WordPress Follow Buttons Plugin – AddThis] problem with firefoxHi mraj48.
Thanks for letting us know about your issue. Are you using a Firefox Private Window? Our tools don’t appear in those by default. They will work if you click on the shield icon next to the address bar and disable tracking protection.
Thanks,
JulkaHi decay.
Thanks for letting us know about your issue. So far, I’ve only heard of one thing that might cause this.
Do you have DISALLOW_FILE_MODS is defined as true in your production wp-config.php and not in the other environments? We’ve heard from some people about an issue with that, and are debating a fix.
If not, are there any JavaScript error happening on page, or any PHP errors getting logged in your production environment? Is this a multi-site instance where the other environments aren’t?
Thanks,

In reply to: [WordPress Share Buttons Plugin – AddThis] Remove email link from sidebarHi Xiano8494.
Thanks for letting us know about your issue.
You can use the addthis_config JavaScript variable to customize this. Documentation on the addthis_config variable.
In the Advanced Options part of the plugin, under Additional Options, there’s a text area for the addthis_config variable. You can enter JSON there to customize behavior.
The example there shows how to use
services_excludeto exclude the print option. You can tweak that slightly to exclude any of our other services. We have several mail service options, so I’m not sure which one you’re interested in. Here is the complete list. Thanks,
JulkaHi Carla.
I’m sorry, I asked the wrong question earlier. All the ways I’ve found of checking a users role in WordPress are hacky, and I’m concerned about them working properly all the way back to 3.0 (which we’ve said we’d support). So, what I’m really looking for here is a capability that’s been around since 3.0.
Maybe
activate_plugins?Thanks,
JulkaThanks for your feedback. We’re continuously working to improve AddThis performance and we’re sorry we didn’t meet your expectations. If you could provide any information about the test you ran we’ll look into improving it in the future. If you’d prefer to share information privately, please feel free to reach out to us at help@addthis.com.
Thanks,

In reply to: [WordPress Share Buttons Plugin – AddThis] review after experimentHi joshibhargav20.
Thank you for the review!
This plugin includes a sharing sidebar which floats on the left or right of the screen with social sharing buttons. Is that the kind of floating option you’re looking for?
Thanks,

In reply to: [WordPress Share Buttons Plugin – AddThis] Frontpage vs. Posts pageHi Marc.
Thanks for letting us know about your issue. Unfortunately, at this time, there isn’t a hook for this.

In reply to: [WordPress Share Buttons Plugin – AddThis] The buttons have disappearedHi Jorge.
Thanks for letting us know about your issue. We recently made a small change to help users with Yoast issues, and I think it may have caused this.
We’re still deciding what to do internally about it. In the meantime, you can downgrade to 5.3.1 using this zip: https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/addthis.5.3.1.zip
I will try to follow up when we figure out what we’re doing about this.
Thanks,
JulkaHi Carla.
Thanks for letting us know about your issue. Is there a role or capability that you think would be more appropriate for this?

Thanks,
JulkaHi Geminorum.
Thanks for letting us know about your issue.
All of our development and testing environments echo out and log PHP errors of all levels. We also regularly test in 7 different versions of PHP and every minor release of WordPress back to 3.0. However, we can’t come close to replicate every environment our plugin will run in.
I’ll add some more error handling around both those lines. This needs a very specific environment to throw a notice, specifically, a URL that isn’t a home page, front page, archive page, category page, post or page. We don’t know how to recreate that situation and I’m unable to test to confirm the fix. If you’d like to take a look at the fix before it’s released, please feel free to contact us at help@addthis.com and ask for it. We’ll gladly share it earlier.
Thanks,
JulkaHi Robalor200.
The “Allow Turning Off of Sharing Tools by Post” feature has not yet been included into this plugin.
If you go back to the Share Buttons by AddThis plugin instead of this one, your previous post/page specific picks for “Allow Turning Off of Sharing Tools by Post” should still be available to you.
Thanks,
JulkaHi TwoThirdsWater.
Do you have a caching plugins installed? My guess would be that Dr. Stout’s solution worked because it triggered a caching plugin to clear its cache. You should be able to do that manually from the settings of the caching plugin.
This is my only guess as to why switching themes worked for him.
Thanks,
JulkaHi peopleinside.
The buttons show up on your site for me in a normal Chrome window, Chrome in incognito mode, and in a normal Firefox session.
Firefox Anonymous windows block all sorts of scripts from running on pages. You can disable it (per session) here:
Thanks,
JulkaHi peopleinside.
Thanks for letting us know about you issue. I haven’t heard of that happening. Is there a link you could share with us for a URL where you’re expecting to see share icons but aren’t? If you’re prefer to share privately, please feel free to email us at help@addthis.com.
Thanks,
Julka
