Ik had hetzelfde probleem.
Aangezien dat hier geen oplossing stond, ben ik wat dieper gaan kijken.
Er wordt een cron aangemaakt (wp_schedule_event) bij het activeren van de plugin.
Om de een of andere rede bestond deze niet meer in de cron settings.
Dus nadat ik de plugin uitgeschakeld had en opnieuw had geactiveerd was het probleem bij mij opgelost.

After further searching I found an other plugin that that was included, and this one contained a new line before the <?php tag.
After removing this line, the problem was solved.
