  • Thanks gstar!

Except for the last checkbox “If no images are downloaded successfully…”, we have the same settings.

Luckily, I tried to import on a new and empty test installation of wordpress and images were successfully added in all adverts. I noticed that newly downloaded images that were not existing in the media library will create a new “attachment” during the import, as seen on WP All Import’s logs. I then remembered that Greg mentioned “attachment” above, which was spot on … thanks Greg!

I confirmed this on my live site by doing a re-import and I unchecked “Search through the media library for existing images…” which will trigger new downloads, and I was finally able to import images successfully.

    Thanks again!

Hi gstar, I’m also trying to import listings to wpadverts using WP All Import, and I haven’t figured out how to include pictures.

Can you please share how you were able to do this?

    Thanks in advance!

Hello, thanks for the solution to #1, I’ll apply this as soon as possible. I look forward to having this as an option in the future. Thanks again!

As for #2, I noticed that expired listings will eventually not show up when using the search widget, and this will happen after the listing status becomes “privately published” (I think this is also done by a cron job). This will however cause the same 404 error because those privately published listings will not be accessible from the frontend.

I was hoping there’s a way to do a bulk exclude from search by adding all expired listings to an “expired” category, and then anything in the expired category is excluded in the search widget. I found the “Search Exclude” plugin that can exclude individual listings from the search widget where the listings can still be found and accessed from google search (perfect for SEO). But since I have to tick a checkbox in each listing individually, it’s virtually impossible to use if i have thousands of expired listings. Any ideas?

Thanks again for the great plugin!

Okay, will check it out. Thanks!

Yes Joel, I’ve been using W3 Total Cache for years.

Thank you Joel for the update. I also posted there, but no replies whatsoever.

Regarding the cron, I noticed I had one instance of dsq_sync_forum when everything was fine, then it became 3 at about the time when syncing stopped working so I disabled it (syncing wasn’t working anyway) and then all the instances in the cron were gone.

Looking forward to your findings, thanks!

Hi Seph, the duplicates? Not yet completely. Already deleted about 4 thousand rows for a few posts. Planning to do it through phpmyadmin soon, just need to check if it’s safe to do, then I’ll see if syncing will be back to normal.

Here’s a screenshot of the custom fields in post editor so you’ll have an idea:

    Do you have something similar?

I also noticed the same problem, disqus comments don’t sync to wordpress. This problem started for my blog last June 14, 2016, when I was using the official disqus plugin. Manual syncing does not help, it just appears to run indefinitely.

After finding DCL two days ago, I replaced the official disqus plugin with it and I’m very happy, but still, syncing does not work.

Anyway, I would like to share some of my findings, which are not being answered in the support section of the official disqus plugin.

One thing I noticed is there are a lot of duplicate custom fields “dsq_needs_sync” in most of my posts (you have to enable custom fields under screen options to see this), although I’m not sure this is related to the syncing problem. I already checked and there are more than 400,000 rows in the table post_meta where meta_key is “dsq_needs_sync” and has a value of “1”. Very few are null.

I suspect the cron for syncing comments is adding these each time it runs, so I disabled syncing for now. Comments from disqus still appear okay at the frontend. The only problem is syncing to the backend in wordpress does not work.

Do you guys think this has anything to do with the syncing problem?

@kelly541, first thing I did was I deactivated the new version of the plugin, but I didn’t delete the files (I was concerned settings might also be deleted… not sure if this is true though).

After that, I FTP’d a copy of the whole directory of the old version from backup, and I made sure to overwrite all of the same/existing files of the new version when prompted (I was using filezilla).

When I got back to the plugin page, it showed I had version 1.7.1 and it was telling me to update to 1.7.3, so I ignored the prompt to update, and I simply re-activated the plugin. Things were back to normal afterwards… whew!

One more thing I want to share, I was able to fix this by restoring version 1.7.1.

The version that I had when the problem was present was version 1.7.3 (the latest as I write this).

Just wanted to add, when I create a new post, the WordPress SEO by Yoast window/tab is normal.

However, after saving the draft post, the WordPress SEO by Yoast window/tab becomes empty, exactly like the screenshot of Zarga above.

All old posts (published/draft) also have empty WordPress SEO by Yoast windows/tabs. I just noticed this after the last update.

I just noticed the exact same thing myself. Has anyone else had this problem and was able to fix it?
