WP All Import Add On
-
Would love to know if you have you considered creating a WP All Import add on so we can import listings?

Hi, i am not really familiar with the WP All Import API so while it would be nice to have an integration with the importing plugin, right now i am not really planning to work on it anytime soon, sorry.
That is a shame, I think it would bring huge potential to your plugin as big sites will begin using it.
Is there an alternative you can offer for mass import? XML import?
I suppose that some import plugin which can handle custom post types should work pretty much out of box with WPAdverts, but i can’t tell for sure.
I have managed to import the content but not the images.
Could you point me in the right direction with what custom fields relate to the images?
The images you should be able to import as any other attachment (i can see this feature is on the WP All Import features list), just make sure that as the post_parent you are using the ID of the Advert to which the image should belong.
Yes, the images we can import but they are not showing on the advert.
If the image is using a post type = “attachment” and the post_parent is an ID of an advert then the image should be automatically shown in the gallery there isn’t anything else needed to have it displayed assuming the attachment is imported correctly and visible in wp-admin / Media panel.
OK I have managed to import listings also with photos.
Hi gstar, I’m also trying to import listings to wpadverts using WP All Import, and I haven’t figured out how to include pictures.
Can you please share how you were able to do this?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Jay, this is the setup I used:
Thanks gstar!
Except for the last checkbox “If no images are downloaded successfully…”, we have the same settings.
Luckily, I tried to import on a new and empty test installation of wordpress and images were successfully added in all adverts. I noticed that newly downloaded images that were not existing in the media library will create a new “attachment” during the import, as seen on WP All Import’s logs. I then remembered that Greg mentioned “attachment” above, which was spot on … thanks Greg!
I confirmed this on my live site by doing a re-import and I unchecked “Search through the media library for existing images…” which will trigger new downloads, and I was finally able to import images successfully.
Thanks again!
