To answer Vrada’s questions:
I created a new database
went through install procedure
deleted wp tables
*not sure what you mean by “replace the directory and rename database name to the new database…”well, the new database name is not the same as the old one… perhaps this is where I am going wrong? but then the content wouldn’t load at all if that is the case ?

I have messed around – changed the URL – and I can log in OK to the dashoard – but now the site is completely blank…
Is it because I haven’t uploaded my old theme files?

I have deleted the a class reference then; and ended up removing the text-decoration:underline from the a selector.
The id= etc idea was a little too advanced for me! I’m just a writer 😉

For example, mine is set to do this also – with that exact same message – and that’s because it’s defined in my search.php file. If I edit or delete this message in this file, then it will no longer appear.
