In reply to: [Shared Albums for Google Photos (by JanZeman)] Works as described. Good UX!Thank you very much Naveen! Your findings were accurate and innovative. Pleasure to cooperate!
Hi Naveen,
My name is Jan, not Jason, but that does not matter at all 😀
I’m really happy it worked! If you don’t mind, please leave a short review – it will help others discover this plugin.
Have a wonderful day and lots of success with your website! 🙂
Hi Naveen,
Please check the 2.0.9 version – released by now.
Your findings in point 3 were valid. I have tried to fix them. Please give it a try and let me know.
Best regards, Jan… as we moved to this thread I will copy my previous text as reply to points 1 and 2. Right after I will read the point 3 and reply separately.
Hi Naveen,
Thank you for your kind words and for the feature request. I hope I understood it correctly.
The plugin already had the fullscreen-source-width and fullscreen-source-height parameters, and I have now also added fullscreen-display-max-width and fullscreen-display-max-height. The first two control the source image size loaded for fullscreen mode, while the new two control the displayed image size in fullscreen mode.
Please wait for the 2.0.9 release. There you will find a new sample called “Low-Resolution Fullscreen Photos with Limited Display Size”. Please open that sample in fullscreen mode and let me know whether it is close to what you had in mind.
Regarding your second suggestion, I experimented with two approaches: moving the parameters to a separate page, and moving the samples to a separate page. In the end, I did not like either solution. I realize there are many samples now, but the page still loads quickly for me both in my development environment and on two live websites where I use the plugin myself.
So, for now, I would prefer not to split the settings into separate pages unless more users request it. As a temporary workaround, you could open the Settings page in two browser tabs to switch more quickly between the samples and the parameter table.
I look forward to your feedback on the new fullscreen parameters.
Best regards,
JanGood idea, let’s move to the other thread.

JanHi Peter,
Sorry for not waiting for your reply – I went ahead and made some changes that I hope will make the buttons much more intuitive to discover.
Good news: buttons now also reveal themselves after a long-press, so even if you instinctively press and hold, they will appear once you dismiss the context menu.
I also renamed the parameter from gallery-scroll-reveal to gallery-buttons-on-mobile. If you want the buttons permanently visible on mobile (no tap or long-press needed), simply add:
gallery-buttons-on-mobile=”always”
Please wait for version 2.0.9 which I will publish later today.
Best regards, Jan
Hi Peter,
I’m glad the flickering is gone – that one I was more worried about. We will solve this problem too, I’m sure of it.
I have the very same iPhone 12 mini. When trying to reproduce your video, it looks like you are using a long-press / tap-and-hold gesture instead of a simple tap gesture. Please try just a short, quick tap on one of the photos – that should reveal all 3 icons, including the download one. Just touch the screen and lift your finger immediately.
Even if my guess is correct, it would still mean the current implementation is not user-friendly enough. I will look at it with a fresh mind tomorrow.
Best regards, Jan
Hi Peter,
I’ve just published it. iOS WebKit is really the troublesome kid on the block…
Please remember to wait a moment until the scrolling finishes, and only then tap anywhere on the photo tile. That should reveal the action icons.
Especially for you, I added a new parameter: gallery-scroll-reveal.
Please give it a try and set its value to “flash-mobile” or “mobile” — one of those might suit your website better.
Best regards, Jan

In reply to: [Shared Albums for Google Photos (by JanZeman)] Flashing images on iPhoneHi @peterpolow,
I believe the flickering issue should now be fixed in version 2.0.7, which I plan to publish tomorrow, April 6, 2026. Please try that version once it is available and let me know if the gallery behavior on iPhone is improved.
Best regards,
JanHi @peterpolow,
I believe the flickering issue should now be fixed in version 2.0.7, which I plan to publish tomorrow, April 6, 2026. Please try that version once it is available and let me know if the gallery behavior on iPhone is improved.
As for the controls/buttons not appearing: unfortunately I have not been able to reproduce that issue on my two older iPhones. On my devices, the controls do appear after a short tap (without scrolling) on the photo / tile, and then hide automatically again after about 3 seconds.
If the problem still happens for you in 2.0.7, it would help a lot if you could send me:
- a short screen recording of the behavior
- the exact iPhone model
- the iOS version
- the browser you used
That would give me a much better chance of reproducing and fixing it.
Kind regards,

In reply to: [Shared Albums for Google Photos (by JanZeman)] Ottimo pluginCiao @imaginans,
Based on your request, I added a whole new feature: metadata info with placeholders. It should cover what you asked for quite easily, and much more as well, including some EXIF data when available.
Please have a look at version 2.0.7. I plan to release it tomorrow, April 6, 2026.
Cordiali saluti,
JanHi @peterpolow,
Actually this worked correctly not only on desktops but also on Android. iOS is (again!) the problematic part. I will push the change in 2.0.6 later today.
Kind regards, JanHi @peterpolow,
Yes, give it a try. So far, AI has been a huge help — at least for now, before it completely removes the need for human programmers. 😉
As of today, it really frees up our hands. For me personally, it makes it possible to run multiple projects simultaneously, and I am no afraid to invest that saved time in learning new technologies, because AI is also a great tutor for picking them up.
Best regards,
JanHi @peterpolow,
… and me again too 🙂 Thank you for splitting your feedback into separate topics. It may mean a few extra greetings, but it keeps the discussion structured and should help future readers as well.
Yes, video download is possible. I’ve already tested it by downloading several videos, and this will be available in version 2.0.5 later today.
Kind regards,
Jan
