Thanks for getting back so quickly.
I found a solution, the issue was not related to your plugin, but some of the other plugins not compatible with 5.5. The solution (for now) was to install: https://da.wordpress.org/plugins/enable-jquery-migrate-helper/

I have the same issue.
The hotfix is to disable the EDD update check in the plugin file. You can simple just remove/comment out the line:

But installed http://strategy11.com/display-widgets/ and had a menu widget show only on the post page, which always output the elements and the hide it on the other pages where the “normal” menu widget is shown
