Yes, I meant going back to Yoast SEO 12.7.1. I uploaded the files to
/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo
It overwrote successfully and now some options, meta fields are available but several are still blanked out – for example, I cannot change the social media images (if you click on Facebook it just does nothing). I cannot change the Advanced options for search, such as the title…again, if you click on it, it does nothing. Javascript is not an issue, as I have reviewed this in the browser console and there are no errors.

In reply to: [WP Downgrade | Specific Core Version] Doesn’t workHow can you manually do this? Is there an option to do this if it doesn’t find it? Or have you updated this issue?

In reply to: [WP Rollback - Rollback Plugins and Themes] There is no button to rollbackThanks, will you be addressing the Yoast SEO rollback not showing?
Had the same issue, no help or even ideas yet from the Yoast team. They thought it was javascript, but in fact it is not as there are no errors on the page. I had to drop down a version which has it’s own issues. Anyone try 12.9.1 since it went abruptly from 12.8.1 to 12.9 then 12.9.1?
Please open this support thread up, and un-mark it as resolved.
P.P.P.S. I have tested for Javascript errors within the Chrome console and there are none at all.
Any way to manually downgrade to 4.7.1? I have a zipped copy but am not sure how to make that happen.
I have a zipped copy of 4.7.1 but cannot seem to manually roll it back, any steps?
P.P.S. In the interim, can you please send me a link to downgrade to 4.7.1 which had none of these issues?
P.S. and actually, I just went into the settings for SEO and all tabs in every single setting from top to bottom shows the heading, like “Social”, “Tools” and “Redirect” but none of the editable fields below show up so of course no settings can be updated, etc either. This is a huge bug, please advise.
Yes, the entire “SEO, Readability, and Social” tabs show up but are blank beneath each as you click on them so you can no longer edit any of the parameters inside any of those fields! Ugh.
How can we download, and downgrade to version 4.7.1 which worked perfectly? BTW I upgraded no other plugins, nor added any prior to this bug, meaning it started ONLY when I upgraded to 4.8 today!
